Introduction

Project Summary

Location: Middle Tennessee

Service: Big rotting ash tree removal with fence repair and cleanup

Equipment Used / Tools: Crane, bucket truck, chainsaws, rigging gear, chipper, dump trucks, stump grinder

Crew: Experienced crew

The Challenge

Rotted trees don’t play by the rules. This ash had to come down without wrecking Tony’s fence or anything else. When a limb accidentally took out part of his fence the crew had to fix it before they left.

Main Challenges

  1. Take down a 50-foot, 66-inch ash rotting from the core without damaging anything
  2. Control limbs over the fence and structures
  3. Fix whatever got damaged and leave the yard clean
“Has a 300 year old ash tree rotting from inside out. 66” at the base. Probably 50′ tall. These guys took it down like it was nothing. One limb was hanging way over my fence and it accidentally dropped and took out a 4′ section. These guys rebuilt it before they left and it looks like new. They cleaned up after themselves and left “nothing but chips.” I don’t write reviews but had to do this one. Do not use anyone else for your tree care needs. They are the best! Very professional young men.”

Good to Know

Surprises happen with big rotted trees. What counts is how you handle it. We own up to mistakes and fix them before we pack up.

Our Solution

Step 1

Looked at how bad the decay was. Made a plan using the crane and bucket truck to bring sections down safe.

Step 2

Rigged the limbs over the fence and started removing them. One limb dropped wrong and smashed a 4-foot section of Tony’s fence. Crew stopped. Rebuilt it right there. Made it look new.

Step 3

Brought down the rest of the trunk in sections. Ground the stump. Chipped everything.

Step 4

Cleaned up. Left chips and a fixed fence.

Did You Know

Emerald ash borers tore through ash trees across the country. Once they’re dead or dying they’re just waiting to drop limbs or fall over. Getting them out opens room for healthier trees.

Why Choose Nothing But Chips
